WRITING
My name is Beatriz, and I’m from Alt Empordà, Catalunya, Spain.
My favourite special meal is roast dinner at Christmas. I ate it for the first time in England at my Grandmother’s house a few years ago. I enjoyed it so much that I asked my mother to cook it for us and ever since we’ve had it for Christmas.
Christmas is my favourite time of the year. It’s a Christian celebration; on the 25th December we celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is also a very special time for all the family to get together. We give each other presents and enjoy having a big meal all together.
We cook a big turkey in the oven with roast potatoes (my favourite!) and lots of vegetables: carrots, green beans, brussel sprouts, peas…
The pudding is also really important. It is usually something cooked in the oven. I like apple pie or fruit crumble. Christmas pudding is also very typical in England. The puddings are served with custard which is similar to “crema catalana”, but custard is hot.
Apple pie is my favourite pudding in the world!

Dear Vanessa,
How are you? It's Sunday and it's my birthday. Now I'm at home with my dad, mum and sister. Dad is cooking "paella" in the kitchen. Mum isn't cooking. She's painting a picture of my grandad's house. It's very big. My sister is watchingDisney programmes.

I'm writing this letter in my bedroom. What are you doing Vanessa? Are you doing homework for Tusday?

Write soon.

In summer my neighbour invites my sister and I to use her swimming pool. Sometimes her grandchildren come and play with us.

A few years ago I went to swimming classes.

You need swimming-costumes: bikinis for the girls and trunks for the boys. In public swimming pools you must wear swimming hats.

RULES : You can't run, jump or shout. You must kick your feet or swim like a frog. You must wear arm-bands if you can't swim.

MY WEEKEND

At the weekend I sometimes go to Barcelona to visit my family. But this is what I do when I don't go to Barcelona:
On Saturdays, in the morning , I watch TV. Then I dAlinea a la dretao my homework. In the afternoon I go to the cinema withmy friends and family. We always watch comedy films because we don't like horror films. In the evening I read a book before I go to sleep because I like reading.

On Sundays I go to my friend's house and we play tennis because we like sport. Then, we listen to music and we sing. In the afternoon, I work on the computer but I don't play computer games because I don't like them. Finally, in the evening, I check my homework for Monday.
